In 1996, "Legends of the Dead Earth" is a crossover event through all of the DC Annual's in that year.  The Earth and it's heroes have long since gone, however, those earthly legends live on throughout the universe and have been scattered over a thousand different worlds.  This is the story of Superman: The Man of Steel known as Kaleb, the last survivor of Hydros, his neverending battle alongside the Rebellion against the Empire headed by an ancient arch nemesis.
